TODAY'S CONTEMPLATION : Dam is full...But still power shortage....

For the last few years we were hearing the same old story of water shortage in idukki dam as the reason for power cuts. When heavy rain hit Kerala this year, water level reached almost near to the full capacity of 2,403 ft.

Again we are facing power shortage which is proving that even nature can't help us.

Out of 6 generators, 3 were stopped on last Sunday due to circuit breaker damage. Still complete output generation not started from these generators. Yesterday's transformer damage further  resulted in the stoppage of generator no.4 and 5.

Around 40% of power-supply in Kerala is from idukki. We are not able to use the water to its full extent and still we want more exploitations on nature. When government and the officials are inefficient in utilizing favorable conditions, all they want is reasons to blame.
